Year 10 INSPIRE Day

Year 10s participated in an Inspire Day on Monday 17 March.  This consisted of a VCE/Careers Session with Mrs Wu Tollis, a presentation by the Pat Cronin Foundation regarding the impacts of violence, and a Physical Activity Session at MARC Stadium and Maddingley Park.  Below are some reflections of our Year 10 students about the day.

“The VCE session was very insightful for me and helped me with my current selection of other subjects for Yr 12.”

“The one-punch guest that we had from the Pat Cronin Foundation gave me awareness of the impact that violence can cause and tactics to evade such situations.”

“One thing I learnt about the last Inspire Day was how VCE subjects and the assessments you do add to your study score. One thing I enjoyed was the physical activity due to the engagement with other people.”

“I really find that VCE knowledge has been gained through the VCE session, and I liked the experience of the reality of the gym.”

“At the last Inspire Day I really enjoyed the physical activity at the end of the day.  It was great fun and a good opportunity for movement!”

Year 10 Flight Dynamics

The Year 10 Flight Dynamics class at Woodlea has been busy building and testing their aircraft over the last week. They are required to make a standard aircraft and measure the speed and lift. Once this testing is complete, they will make one modification to the aircraft and retest to see the impact this modification has on the aircraft’s speed and lift.

The students have been highly engaged, demonstrating their problem solving and team work skills as they follow the instructions to build the aircraft.

We have been quite successful with all aircraft, so far, able to take-off.
