ICCES Summer Tour
The ICCES Summer Tour is a highlight of the BMG sporting calendar, bringing together students and staff from both campuses for a day of tough competition. Entering this year’s event as the reigning champions, BMG was determined to build on the success of previous years and once again demonstrate the strength of our sporting programme.
This year’s annual event in Ballarat proved to be an outstanding success, with our students demonstrating exceptional skill, determination and sportsmanship across a range of summer sports.

After a long day of challenging competition, BMG returned home having secured six division championships, putting the school in a strong position to challenge for the overall title.
It is with great pride that we announce BMG finished on 57 points, five points clear of our nearest rival, to be crowned the 2026 ICCES Summer Tour Champions for the fourth time in the school’s history.
Congratulations to all students involved in this year’s Summer Tour. Every point earned, match contested and victory achieved contributed to this outstanding result and helped bring the overall championship back to BMG. The commitment, determination and sportsmanship demonstrated by our students throughout the day were a credit to both themselves and the school.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all coaches who dedicated their time and effort to trialling, selecting and preparing students for the competition. Their willingness to give up their own time to support our students and develop our teams played a significant role in our success.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge and thank our Event Convenors, who assisted with the coordination and delivery of the day on behalf of BMG and the ICCES Association. Their efforts helped ensure the event ran smoothly and provided our students with a fantastic opportunity to represent the school.

Victorian Ultimate Frisbee State Championships – Intermediate and Primary
On Tuesday 13 October, BMG took four teams to the Victorian Ultimate Frisbee State Championships with two intermediate boys’ team, one intermediate girls’ team and a boys’ primary team.
Our primary team gave an outstanding account of themselves throughout a highly competitive day. In BMG’s debut at this age level in the Championships, the students represented the school with great pride, sportsmanship and character, earning their place in the Grand Final. Although they missed out on the final victory, the team can hold their heads high after an exceptional performance. The students should be incredibly proud of their efforts, finishing the day as Championship Runners-up and taking home a well-deserved runners-up pennant.
Our Intermediate teams enjoyed similar success on the day, with both boys’ teams finishing in the top three of the Championship.
One of our boys’ teams missed out on qualifying for the Grand Final, but bounced back to secure victory in the 3rd place playoff, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.
Our other boys team qualified for the Grand Final and, in a match filled with controversy, demonstrated tremendous composure and resilience to get the job done. The boys secured the overall age-group title, becoming State Champions for 2026!
Our girls’ team faced a challenging day on the field but continued to demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, team spirit and pride in representing BMG. Although they did not qualify for the finals, their efforts and character did not go unnoticed, with the team receiving the Spirit Award at the conclusion of the competition. This recognition was a fitting reflection of the girls’ positive attitude throughout the day.
It was fantastic to see all four BMG teams walk away from the Championships with medals around their necks, a testament to the students’ hard work, determination and commitment throughout the competition.
A big thank you to Mr Rubino, Mr De Bortoli, Ms Nicolle, Mr Glen and Mr Oldaker for their dedication and support in preparing the students for the event. Their willingness to sacrifice valuable personal time to train and develop our teams played a significant role in the success achieved on the day. Their commitment to BMG Sport and the students is greatly appreciated.

VSAC Athletics Championships
On Thursday 15 October, BMG had ten students from Years 7 to 12 selected to represent the ICCES team at the VSAC Athletics Championships. Students earned their selection through their outstanding performances at the ICCES Athletics Carnival in Term 2.
Competing against some of the best student athletes from across the state, our representatives rose to the challenge and delivered a series of impressive performances throughout the day, with several students securing placings in their respective events.
Congratulations to all ten students on their selection and for representing BMG with pride at this high level of competition. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work and commitment to athletics throughout the year.
