Bacchus Marsh Grammar is seeking an Instrumental Music Tutor (Woodwind) on a 0.2 fixed term contract basis until the end of the 2026 school year.
About the Music Program
Music is an important part of life at Bacchus Marsh Grammar. Our Music program focuses on inclusion, offering diverse experiences from classroom music Prep to Year 12, through to an extensive co-curricular program of instrumental and choral ensembles for students of all age groups. Brass, woodwind, guitar, bass and percussion students have a number of opportunities to perform through stage bands, a concert band (Years 5–12), and student-led and VCE ensembles. Through workshops, excursions, examinations, eisteddfods and concerts, our students are exposed to a high quality music education at all levels.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Woodwind Tutor to join our Faculty of Music and Performing Arts on a 0.2 fixed term contract basis. As an Instrumental Music Tutor, you will deliver high-quality individual and small group woodwind tuition, designing engaging and appropriately sequenced learning programs that inspire students at every level. You will prepare students for AMEB and equivalent practical examinations, assist with concerts and co-curricular ensembles, and maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress. The successful applicant must be available on Wednesdays to support our Year 5 Band Program.
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Music
- High level of skill on woodwind instrument(s)
- Experience teaching school-aged students across a range of abilities
- Familiarity with AMEB syllabus and examination preparation
- Availability on Wednesdays (Year 5 Band Program)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, student-centred approach
- Current Working with Children Check (employment)
- National Criminal History Check
- VIT registration desirable
