Bacchus Marsh Rotary recognises the work of the School in Horticulture

On Thursday 20 March, Jac Cook and Kathy Cairns from the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Club visited the Maddingley campus “Nursery”, to see the array of students’ work by the Junior Landcare Club.

From admiring the abundance of sunflowers, to the ever-expanding supply of pumpkins, Kathie and Jac were impressed with the students’ efforts to date. The visit was in response to recent successes at the Bacchus Marsh Flower and Garden Show in which the School had numerous wins which were duly noted by the community.

In response to the School’s commitment to horticulture, the Rotary Club has awarded the Junior Landcare Group a gift of $3000 to help expand their ambitions, ultimately making for an even bigger contribution to this year’s Show in October.

Students at Maddingley can join in the fun at the Junior Landcare Club every Friday with Mr Gorton.
