Mrs Debra Ogston (Principal)

Qualifications: B. Ed. (Physical Ed., Outdoor Ed., Mathematics)

Mrs Ogston began her secondary school teaching career more than 20 years ago after graduating from the University of South Australia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree of Education in Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Mathematics.

Having taught in both the State system in country Victoria and the Independent system interstate, Mrs Ogston joined Bacchus Marsh Grammar in 2002. During her time at our School she has held the positions of Coordinator of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, Year Level Coordinator (Year 9), Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sport, Assistant Principal, Pastoral Care and Student Management, Deputy Principal – Head of Maddingley Campus and from 2025 has become the school’s fourth Principal.

Mr Andrew Neal (CEO)

Qualifications: B. Arts (Hons), M. Ed (PoL & Admin), M. Ed, M. Ed (RE), Grad. Dip. (Theology), Grad. Dip. (Learning & Teaching), Adv. Dip. (Local History), Grad. Cert. (Mental Health), FRGS, FRSA.

Mr Neal grew up in the semi-rural area between Frankston and Cranbourne and attended Haileybury College before beginning his tertiary studies at Melbourne University in 1978.

He began his career in 1983 as part of the first graduate intake for the Victorian Public Service, working in health and water policy. In 1988, he transitioned to teaching at Trinity Grammar, Kew, where he taught Geography and Religious Education and held several leadership roles, including Director of Curriculum and member of the School Executive.

In 1998, Mr Neal was appointed Principal of Bacchus Marsh Grammar, a role he held for 26 years. During this time, the School grew from 300 students to over 2500 across three campuses. In 2025, he became CEO of the School.

Mr Neal holds qualifications from Melbourne, Monash, Australian Catholic University, University of Divinity and Oxford. He is a Board member and Treasurer of the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools and has served on various education and welfare boards, including as Chairperson. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Geographical Society.

Mr Neal’s wife, Phillippa, is a French and History teacher in Geelong. Their daughters, Stephanie and Antonia, are Bacchus Marsh Grammar alumni.
