Girls Uniform Policy

Girls’ Full School Uniform


• BMG kilt (Years 5 – 12)
• BMG skirt (Years 3 – 6)
• BMG tunic (P – 3)
• BMG trousers
• Gold blouse
• BMG cross-over tie or school tie
• BMG jumper
• BMG blazer (Years 5-12)
• Black tights with kilts, gold or white socks with trousers
• Plain black school shoes (not boots)


Notes on wearing the Full School Uniform


• Shirts must be tucked in.
• No under garments should be visible.
• Ties must not be removed.
• Sleeves must not be rolled up.
• T-shirts may be worn under school shirts in cold weather, but, they must be white or gold with no motifs.
• Scarves may be worn provided that they are a school colour or a check combination of the school colours. No
scarves, gloves or hats are to be worn in class.
• Boxer shorts should not come below dress hems.


Girls’ Sports Uniform


• Regulation black track suit pants
• Rugby top
• Polo shirt
• Netball skirt
• Black sports briefs
• Plain white or black socks
• Sports shoes (predominantly black or white in colour)
• BMG black sports shorts
• BMG sports jackets


Notes on wearing the Sports Uniform


• The sports jacket may be worn over the polo top or rugby top but may not be worn whilst participating in sports
activities.
• In First and Fourth terms hats must be worn during P.E. and Sport conducted outside.
• School rugby jumpers and sports jackets are not to be tied around the waist.


Year 5 – 12


• Students are required to wear full school uniform to and from school each day. On sport or physical education
days, students are to change into appropriate sports uniform for their scheduled class time.


Years Prep – 4


• On designated PE days students may wear sports uniform to and from school.


Girls’ Summer Uniform


• BMG cotton dress
• BMG jumper
• BMG blazer (Senior School only)
• Gold or white socks
• Socks must come up to the ankle
• Plain black school shoes (not boots)


Girls’ Jewellery and Hair


Jewellery


• One wrist watch
• One ring
• One set of studs or sleepers (worn in the earlobe) only are acceptable.
• No visible necklaces. Any student wearing obvious and excessive make-up will be asked to remove it
immediately. Clear nail polish only. Primary students are discouraged from wearing jewellery for safety reasons.
• Other than earrings, other body piercing must not be visible. Similarly, body markings are not to be visible.


Hair


The following regulations regarding hair apply:
1. Hair must not be shaved less than a ‘number 3’
2. Hair may be dyed to a ‘natural’ blond, brown or black only. Dyed ‘white blond’ is not deemed a natural
colour.
3. Long hair may be worn out (but off the face) except during practical classes when it should be tied back.
4. Hair clips may be used if plain and in reasonable number.
5. Beads in hair are not permitted.
6. Single or double plaits are permitted, but not multiple small plaits.
7. No extreme hairstyles are allowed. The judgement of ‘extreme fashion’ will lie with the Principal and Deputy
Principals.


School Bags


BMG school bags are part of full school uniform. Sports bags are to be used for occasions when change of clothing
is required for sport or for specific school events.


Sports Jackets


The school sports jacket may not be worn over full school uniform. Those students riding bicycles to and from
school may wear a sports jacket instead of their blazer, but once at school their blazer must be worn.


Sports Shoes/Runners


Runners may only be worn when students are legitimately in Sports uniform. They are NOT to be worn with full
summer or winter school uniform at recess or lunchtimes.
