After School Program

This program operates on each afternoon Monday to Friday from 3.15pm - 6.00pm. The program is run by Mrs Sharon Jones, the Program Coordinator and assisted by up to two Year 10,11 or Year 12 students who have a career interest in this field.

As part of the program students are given a healthy snack and drink on arrival. Students are then expected to complete homework where individual assistance is available where required. Students then participate in a variety of organised activities. These activities are designed to cater for the seasons in that Term 1 and Term 4 activities
have a predominant outdoor focus.

The Active After School Sport Program operates on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. This program operates in conjunction with the Out of Hours Care/After School Program. Junior School students of all ages are eligible to access the program provided they are registered with the After School Care Program. The program operates for 8 weeks of each term throughout the school year. The fee to register with the After School Program for these nights will be a standard fee of $7.00 per student, per night. Parents may be eligible to claim a rebate for this fee. Please ask Mrs Sharon Jones for more information.

The Active After School Sports Program operates from 3.30pm –5.30pm. During this time the students are required to be actively engaged in activity for a minimum of one hour. At other times students will receive a healthy snack and be involved in various multi sports activities. Students may be collected from the After School Program in Wilson Hall any time from 5.30pm to 6.00pm. Older students will need to change into sports uniform for the activities however students in Years Prep –Year 2 may choose to bring their runners to school to wear with the school uniform on the allocated day if preferred. Students are not required to stay the entire time and may be picked up
earlier if so desired.

Mrs. Sharon Jones will supervise the program along with her assistants, however an approved coach with the Australian Sports Commission will deliver the sports activity. The number of participants for the program at this stage is capped at 32 students, so places will be allocated on a first in basis. If filled, a waiting list will apply.

A wide range of sports are offered including football, soccer, karate, dance, netball, aerobics, and gymnastics.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar After School Care is a funded program and parents may qualify to obtain a rebate for childcare services. Please see the Coordinator, Mrs Sharon Jones for more information.

Vacation Care Program

Bacchus Marsh Grammar operates a limited Vacation Care Program which is not a government funded program.

During designated times throughout the year, a program operates on a short day basis from 9.00am - 4.00pm.

As part of the weekly program, an excursion to the local Cinema or Bowling Centre in Melton may be offered. This usually occurs in the break during the lead up to Christmas.
