The Business Notice provides parents with a single reference document in relation to major business and enrolment related issues. Given the detail in the document it is important that parents read the document so that they fully understand the obligations of enrolment at the school and retain it for reference throughout the school year.
Fees
Whilst fees have increased, they again compare well with most comparable independent schools in the region and indeed Victoria. Our fees still remain amongst the lowest for comparable independent schools in the State.
An important point concerning fees at the school is that proportionally, a very high percentage of fee income is directed towards the provision of staffing and facilities that directly benefit students. The school runs extremely efficiently in relation to other schools in terms of administrative overheads.
School Council have also decided to continue their decision of extending the discount of 5% for fees paid in advance until the 31st of January 2007. This enables parents an additional month to obtain this advantage.
Fee Collection
In any school, timely collection of fees is vital to the long-term financial stability of the school. In the past few years the school has streamlined its processes in relation to fee collection. Accordingly, the school will continue to adhere strictly to its policy on the collection of fees. The nature of this policy is not designed to be onerous, but reinforces the critical link between the collection of fees and the school’s ability to continue to meet its financial commitments and provide services to students.
There will continue to be an administrative charge of $50.00 placed on accounts that are not paid within the terms of the Business Notice. This will partly cover the additional costs incurred by the school in following up overdue payments and is a common practice in most independent schools.
It is, however, extremely important for parents to note that if a family finds itself in circumstances where payment of fees as per the Business Notice would cause hardship, that the school will look on these matters sympathetically. I urge people to discuss any such matter with the Business Manager or myself as soon as any difficulty may arise. I have been given some powers of discretion to work with and support families in such circumstances. This, however, can only occur if there is prompt discussion with the Business Manager or me and a formal arrangement put in place. Conditions of Enrolment
Parent’s attention is drawn also to the conditions of enrolment in the school. It is important that parents read these conditions and are willing to support the school in its aim of creating a safe and structured learning environment for their children. These are also included on the re-enrolment document. |
