Active After School Sports Program

The Active After School Sports Program operates in conjunction with the Out of Hours Care Program.  Students must be enrolled in the After School Program to participate in these activities.  There is a reduced rate for care on these nights to a flat rate of $7.00 per night.

In 2006, Active After School Sports Program will operate on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3.15 – 5.00pm.  Students are not obliged to stay for the entire time.  The proposed activities for Term 1 will be Basketball and Cricket and Term 2 activities, Karate and Dance.

Skyscrapers

A co-curricular program is offered to all Junior School students with activities ranging from core curricular to special interest.  The Skyscrapers program is conducted once a week over 4 weeks during Term 2 and Term 3 from 3.20pm – 4.20pm.  The cost for involvement in this program is $5.00 per term.

Junior Rock

All Year 5 and Year 6 students participate in Junior Rock as the major part of their Performing Arts curriculum.  Students are given the opportunity to perform either on stage or in a back stage roll.  There is compulsory after school rehearsals for all students involved in Junior Rock during the Term 2 Skyscrapers program. The program runs from 3.20pm – 4.20pm.  The cost of participating in the Skyscrapers program for these two terms is wavered however students who need to utilise the late bus services are required to purchase tickets as normal.

Instrumental Music Lessons

Students are encouraged to learn a musical instrument.  These lessons are available during the school day, and tuition fees are in addition to the school fees.

Junior School Choir

The Junior School provides opportunity for involvement in choir at Year 3, as a compulsory component of the curriculum, and at Year 4 – Year 6 as a co-curricular option.  Students who are interested meet weekly and perform at various functions during the course of the school year.  In 2006, choir members will be able to purchase a school choir t-shirt to wear for public performance. It is compulsory for students involved in the choir, to attend and perform at official school functions.
